TENTS AND EVENTS

Tents and events go hand in hand as you can rarely have one without the other. American Pavilion has been providing a variety of tents for events since our founding in 1902. The types of event tents is almost unlimited; tents for concerts and music festivals, event tents for corporate meetings and product displays, tents for weddings and parties, commercial tented events and tents for company picnics are just a few of the many uses.

Types of Tents and Events

What are the types of tents and events? There are many types of tents for rent, lease or sale; including but not limited to clear span tents, pole tents, tension tents and pipe frame tents.

Clear Span Tents

These are perfect for events since their installation is very fast, they are extremely weather resistant, and have no interior poles or exterior guy-lines. They can be installed in almost any width and length, from 100 square feet to over 100,000 square feet. Clear span tents and events can include many types of accessories including flooring, carpeting, lighting, fabric roof liners, glass sides, entry doors, temporary air conditioning and heat, generators and power distribution.

Pole Tents

Pole tents for events are also a popular choice as they come in a variety of colors and have an attractive look due to the tents high peaks. These high peaks get their support from large interior poles. Because their weather resistance is not always as good as clear span tents, you should limit the use of these tents to a short period of time. A pole tent can withstand strong weather but they are not engineered to withstand the most severe weather like many clear span event tents. The interior support poles can at times block views for guests and disturb the flow of guests, speakers and servers. Pole tents may come with side walls that you can open or close quickly depending on the weather.

Tension Tents

Tension tents for events are similar to pole tents because they come in a variety of colors and have attractive peaks running down the center of the tension tent due to the interior support poles. The design of these tents is so the tension that keeps the tent stretched properly is dispersed evenly throughout the fabric roof as opposed to the tension only being placed on support webs as in a pole tent. This over-all tension allows for a wide variety of designs and sizes.

Pipe Frames

Pipe frames for tented events are a good choice for small backyard affairs where you need to keep a handful of people out of the sun or a mild rain. We install these tents using an aluminum pipe frame and covered with a tent fabric to cover the roof and sides of the pipe frame tent. This is the least expensive rental option for event tents but they are only available in smaller sizes, and lack the robust engineering of a clear span event tent. Because of this, they are probably the least weather resistant of these four tents.

TEMPORARY WAREHOUSE RENTAL

American Pavilion, a nationwide tent rental company has been providing event tents and clear span tents for events nationwide since 1902. Recently we were contacted by an automobile manufacturing plant that needed additional storage space for six months but building a permanent building was not a fiscally viable choice for the plant. The American Pavilion team jumped into action to work on a solution for the client with a temporary warehouse rental tent, also known as a clear span tent, at the top of our list of recommendations.

Their Needs: a Temporary Warehouse Rental

The manufacturing plant needed a large tent, measuring over 10,000 square feet, but they also had a number of requirements. For the temporary warehouse rental had to be clear span. This means that it could have no interior poles or supports, so that forklifts could move throughout the warehouse tent unimpeded. They also required a large rental warehouse tent that could withstand a minimum of six months of Midwestern summer storms and strong winds with as little maintenance as possible, (to save on maintenance costs). In addition, the rental tent had to be weather resistant so that their inventory stayed dry.

After a detailed conversation with the client it was determined that a clear span temporary warehouse rental was the best option. This is because it was able to meet all of the client’s needs. The clear span warehouse tent met the client’s budget. On top of that, it is extremely weather resistant, can withstand 90 mph wind gusts and requires very little maintenance. Clear span tents are the perfect choice for both short and long term rentals due to the features mentioned above.

Our Installation Process

We installed an 82 foot wide by 132 foot clear span tent on a concrete pad. This location was right next to the manufacturing plant by using special concrete anchors. We firmly anchored the temporary warehouse rental to the concrete. These anchors are strong enough to hold the tent to the ground through the worst of weather. They are also removable when we return to remove the warehouse tent.

American Pavilion also provided a large entrance door measuring 16’ wide and 14’ tall. This was so everything from forklifts to semi-trucks could easily enter and exit at will without having to remove any portion of the tent to do so. Warehouse tents are one of the most popular uses for clear span tents. Due to our extremely large rental inventory, we can load, deliver and install almost any sized clear span rental tent.
